Manifesto
Why NoShit Development?
NoShit Development builds software that does its job without unnecessarily collecting attention, data or control. Products should be clear, fair and, ideally, a little charming.
Reasons
- Avoid ads — except where advertising logically fits the product and is used clearly, narrowly and fairly.
- Reject tracking: software should work without exploiting user behaviour.
- Store and manage data locally wherever that makes sense.
- Make familiar frames customizable instead of pushing every user into the same default flow.
- Break market conventions when they only create distraction, lock-in or artificial friction.
- Simply ship cool products people like using.
Guidelines
- User-friendly and intuitive UIs.
- No tracking and, where possible, no storage of user data.
- Joy, fun and a bit of cuteness where it fits — without hurting usability.
- Clear permissions, clear boundaries and no hidden trade-offs.
- Functions first: every app should solve a real problem calmly and directly.
Position
NoShit does not mean ascetic. It means: no unnecessary manipulation, no greed for data and no interface that wants to be more important than the task. If a product is playful, it is because it brings joy. If it is simple, it is because it removes work for the user.
